The Silver Gryphons
are an adventuring and roleplaying guild on the Atlantic shard. We play the
roles of knights and wizards who follow Lord British and uphold the Virtues,
driving back the dark forces that plague our land.
So what are we all about? First and foremost, we are a close
knit group of friends who all share a love of Ultima Online. Our friendships
extend both in and out of the game, and we strive to make playing the game fun
for ourselves, our guildmates and for those around us. We are not a warring
guild, and under no circumstances do we commit murder, or permit murder
to be
done in our presence(Only Chancellors have right to order revenge, Kill On Sight, Bounty, Etc.). Reds are Kill On Site. In fact, we encourage other members to rid Sosaria of these varmints. We strive to keep all of our members in positive karma.
Although sometimes accidents happen, we try to maintain that higher level.
We play primarily on the Trammel facet, although there are members who also
play on the Felucca facet. However, regardless of where we are,
we uphold our core set of beliefs about virtue, courage, honor and compassion.
The kind of player that we're looking for is kind, thoughtful
and mature (not specifically in terms of age, but rather in terms of attitude).
The kind of player who not only thinks about himself/herself and what he or she wants out of
the game, but also how his or her actions affect others and how help can help others
have an enjoyable time. The virtues that we uphold in the game are also the
same qualities that we promote as players and look for in our guildmates.
Our Guild hall is located
at the north end of the Desert of Compassion, over the bridge just past the
Guard Post along the road on the right.
Until we meet, safe travels and may the Virtues be with you-
Guildmaster, Lord Djinn
My credit card expired and I forgot to update my UO Account. Needless to say, I logged back on after 7 months being away and all was gone. So fuck it, Im gone too. I lost the stone and years and years of vet rewards and rares. I can never replace what I had. The game has totally gone down hill also. Brit bank is a ghost town, new spells, new bullshit. This is what it took for me to be seperated from a game that is older then my kids. Farewell all. I will keep this site up for at least a year or untill I don't renew it and let it go poof too.
Well, since our guild is so small, I migrated the whole site to my other server. It's saves me @ $160.00 a year. The move went pretty well. It only took me 4 hours. There might be some bugs around, but i can always solve them.
I still play UO and always will. That's why the site is still up. S^G vets come by and give warm greetings here and there. That's always nice and worth it. This site is for all of you, the ex-S^G guildies, the UO fans young and old. Enjoy what is here. I try to update once in a while. I love all you guys and gals. Peace and may Lord British reign forever in the after life.
It's that time of the year again. We are heading into yet another long Ultima winter. I have discovered some leaks in the Guild Hall roof and some stucco is starting to crack in and out of the Hall. The Castle before that was strong and sturdy that stood whatever Sosaria elements it through at it. S^G treasure bank is loaded with gold. It is exciting for me to announce a new custom upgrade. I will post time lapse pictures of the building process for all our friends and members alike.
S^G is still here and currently a small guild. We have many allies and ex-members that visit S^G web site. Some statistics....

By order of the Royal Council, ruling pro tempore:
Ricardo, notorious thief and scoundrel, is hereby and forthwith declared an enemy of the state. As such, he is wanted for immediate detention and questioning concerning the events leading up to and culminating in the Ophidian War.
He is described as a flamboyant, charismatic man, of average height and build, brown eyes, and brown hair of average length. He should be considered extremely dangerous. Citizens are urged to report any and all information concerning his whereabouts to the Sheriff of Trinsic.
Moonglow (BNN) - According to eyewitness reports, strange rifts have appeared across Sosaria.
Witnesses describe them as looking similar to the rift that formed after the final battle with the rogue elements of the Ophidian invasion. There is speculation that the two events are related.
"These rifts have happened from time to time in the past, but even our greatest scholars have little knowledge of them," said Selcius the Astronomer. "We have no idea what could be on the other side of a rift, and that?s what has us terrified."
If any information on the location or composition of these rifts is discovered, Selcius the Astronomer has asked for that information to be brought to him immediately.
"And then?" I pressed in, eager to hear.
"Aye lass, that?s when it happened, it did," Jordan replied. The crowd had hushed, some leaning in, as he took a swig of ale and then punctuated his last words with a hard thump as he set down the mug.
"It wailed, aye, like a banshee! Flames were rushing towards me and I knew I was a dead man."
He eyed us all for a moment, and leaned back. "?Twas though time herself stood still, that awful keening," he paused, "but low... low and dark."

The sudden and complete failure of teleportation spells near invaded cities, as well as the magical protection spells and various barriers, has confounded the finest minds from Britain to Moonglow these past weeks. Those adept with the mystic arts reported a sense of interference, as though the very ether itself had been twisted and bent.

Yesterday we reported that the government had reached an agreement with the Ophidian leaders to step down their forces, in exchange for the ?Zenith Scion.? The Britannian government was not, however, prepared for the information that the Ophidian ambassador needed to convey.

News has reached the BNN that the Court Ambassador has successfully negotiated a reduction of forces with the Ophidian queens, after turning over the ?Zenith Scion,? an artifact the Ophidians seemed desperate to gain back. Readers may remember that its theft from the Ophidians allegedly sparked what has now been one of the most prolonged wars Britannia has seen in modern times.

Note from Ricardo, legendary thief, discovered near the Britain Bank:
To The Gracious Citizens of Britannia,
I must sincerely apologize for the brutish reaction of the Ophidians to my relieving them of an item so small it hardly bears mentioning. Who knew how sensitive those silly snakes were?
I can?t promise to bring back the item, as, well, it doesn?t much exist anymore. However, my conscience, which rarely reminds me of its existence, tells me I should perform some small favor for you. I believe there is a door in some dank dungeon that some citizens requested be opened. I might just do that. Of course, if I do open that door, I lay claim to whatever trinkets might be inside, as a small payment for my services.
To show our appreciation for our player's loyalty to Ultima Online, we've been busy adding some new gifts to the Veteran Rewards program. Starting with Publish 42, accounts that are old enough will be able to choose from five new rewards: a Red Soulstone, a Player Statue Maker, a Decorative Cannon, a Weapon Engraving Tool and a Rideable Polar Bear!

Hours had passed - but every time she tried to adjust her position, needles of pain shot through her cramped limbs. She was tucked behind a few barrels in the dark cellar, desperate to avoid the slaughter above, unable to escape into the jungles.

Ophidian raiding parties are now advancing on the towns of Vesper and Papua where they are being met by small organized groups of citizens protecting their home. The young, old and infirm are currently fleeing these two towns under heavy guard in what so far appears to be a calm and orderly evacuation. The cause behind the escalating Ophidian violence is still not certain.
Sneaking around and slinking up behind unsuspecting victims, Ophidians have invaded several areas of Britannia and seem to be attacking citizens at random. No pattern has yet been established for who they are attacking or why. According to eye witness reports, the Ophidians seem to be searching for someone in particular, but refuse to say who. Knowledge on why these overgrown snakes are roaming around on the outskirts of our fair towns and villages is scarce, though there may be a connection to the recent rash of missing persons reports originating from the cutpurse community.
As outlined in our Rules of Conduct, we do not allow players to enrich themselves through the abuse of bugs or exploitation of game mechanics. We reserve the right to confiscate any items created through such means.
Recently, we discovered a large number of checks for amounts over one million gold pieces. Checks were never intended to exist in denominations of more than a million. Unfortunately, these inflated checks have been used by exploiters to store extremely large amounts of gold. These checks have now been removed from the game.
This action has resulted in over 180 accounts being terminated and approximately 15 Trillion (15,000,000,000,000) gold pieces have been permanently removed from the game.
Recently, UOForums had a chance to interview Tony Ray, founder of PunkBuster. Tony answered lots of questions submitted by UO players about PunkBuster's integration with Ultima Online. If you're hungry for more details about PunkBuster and UO, this is one interview you don't want to miss.
(Excerpt from the Britannian Journal of the Starry Sciences)
...Moongates, despite their beauty and mysterious qualities, are explainable through science. One need not rely on magicians and monks and others who place faith in, well, merely faith.
If you study moongates closely, you?ll find they behave in a predictable fashion, follow specific laws of nature, have no special resistance to scientific experimentation, and can be manipulated as desired by one with the proper knowledge.

Title : Account Housing Grace Period to Change to 30 Days
Beginning on August 1st, 2006, the grace period for houses on inactive accounts will be changed from 90 days to 30 days. If your account remains inactive for more than 30 days, your house will begin a decay period of about 5 days. If you reactivate your account within the initial 30-day grace period or before your house finishes its 5-day decay period, then it will return to its original status.
If your account will be inactive for 30 days or more as of August 1st, it will be affected by this change. To keep your house, please reactivate your account by July 31st.
Please understand that our in-game support staff will not replace any lost houses or items as a result of this change, so don?t wait until the last moment to reactivate your account!
The change in the housing decay grace period from 90 days to 30 days was a difficult decision for the UO team. It took several long discussions before the call was finally made. With all things considered, we feel this change will reward the players who are actively playing UO and getting use out of their in-game home. There were simply too many accounts that opened and closed every 90 days, keeping real estate out of the hands of Britannians who would like to own bigger, better houses. Having so much property occupied by people who are rarely in game didn?t seem fair to active players. Active players will always come first. With that in mind, we made this decision. Thanks for playing Ultima Online!? Darkscribe
